Happy Paws Home Care has cared for Cincinnati’s pets since 2012. We’re a professional, bonded, and insured in-home pet care team — and we’re hiring Pet P.A.L.s (Professional Animal Lovers) for stable, ongoing roles.

This is professional part-time work, not a gig. We’re building a small, committed team of dependable people who want a consistent schedule, real responsibility, and room to grow with us. If you’re looking for occasional, “work whenever you feel like it” app-style work, this isn’t the right fit — and that’s okay.

We’re hiring for two roles.

Role 1: Midday Route Walker (our core role)

A consistent weekday dog-walking route — not an on-call role.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• Pay: $16–$18/hour, with opportunities for additional hours as your route grows
• What you’ll do: Complete 5–6 dog walks per day along a structured, recurring route; care for the same clients and pets each week; travel between nearby client homes; follow each pet’s routine; send photos and updates through our app.

Best for someone who wants a predictable weekday schedule and enjoys independent, low-supervision work.

Role 2: Flexible Pet Sitter (scheduled coverage team)

Steady, recurring visits outside the weekday midday window — mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnights.

• Pay: $16–$18/hour + tips, with the same growth path
• Schedule: Built around the availability you give us. This is reliable, scheduled part-time work — not on-call gig work.

Best for someone who wants consistent part-time hours on a schedule that can include some evenings, weekends, or overnights.

What the Work Involves (both roles)

• In-home care: dog walking, feeding, fresh water, medication, litter and waste cleanup, enrichment, and companionship
• Following each client’s specific care plan precisely
• Documenting every visit in our app with notes and photos, sent to the client right after each visit
• Clear, prompt communication with clients and our office
• Showing up on time, for every scheduled visit

• Stays calm and level-headed with nervous, high-energy, or difficult animals

Requirements

• 18 or older
• Where you live is the most important requirement for the Midday Route Walker role. Our routes are densest on Cincinnati’s east side, so we’re prioritizing applicants who live in or directly next to these high-demand areas:
  • Hyde Park, Mount Lookout, and Oakley — our busiest area by far
  • Madeira, Kenwood, Blue Ash, and Montgomery
  • Pleasant Ridge, Kennedy Heights, and Madisonville
  • Anderson Township, Mount Washington, and Terrace Park
  • Loveland and Symmes Township
  • Downtown / Mount Adams
  • Flexible Pet Sitters may live anywhere within our broader service area (generally within the I-275 loop). If you live on the far west side or outside I-275, we likely won’t have a viable route for you.
• Reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
• Smartphone with a data plan (for scheduling, GPS check-ins, photos, and messaging)
• Able to walk dogs and lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and work outdoors in all conditions
• Willing to pass a background check and drug screen
• Able to commit to the role for at least six months

Compensation & Growth

• $16–$18/hour to start, paid every two weeks by direct deposit

• Performance-based raises and additional hours as you take on more
• W-2 employee — we handle payroll taxes and you get the protections of real employment
